How long to books check out?
Books check out for for 3 weeks, and may be Renewed twice unless another person requests the item.
Can I check out CDs?
Yes! Cds check out for 2 weeks, and may be Renewed twice unless another person requests the item.
Can I check out DVDs?
Yes. They circulate, or check out, for 2 weeks, and may be Renewed twice unless another person requests the item.
Do you have Kindle Fire eReaders?

Can I check out a laptop?
Laptop Computers check out for a single day, and may not be renewed. Please, review our Electronic Equipment Borrowing Guidelines.
Can I check out an iPad?
iPads check out for a single day, and may not be renewed. Please, review our Electronic Equipment Borrowing Guidelines.
How long do textbooks check out for?
Course Reserve Textbooks circulate for 4 hours, and may not be renewed.
Can I check out calculators?
Calculators check out for two weeks, and you may renew it, or re-check it out, once if no one is waiting.
Overdue Items and Fines
Any electronic device that is overdue will have a fine of $10 per day and max out at $200. This same fine applies to course reserve books.
Notices will be sent to a borrower’s campus e-mail before an item is due, and several times after it is overdue.
Any borrower with fines over $10.00 will not be allowed to check-out additional items until fines are paid. See the Circulation Desk for a copy of fines owed to take to the Cashier.
When an item has been overdue for 45 days it is automatically declared lost and a replacement fee is charged and your student account will be blocked.

Your Library Account
To check out items from the library, set up an account with the library using your student ID or a current photo ID. Your account will be tied to your RRCC account (Banner) and your RRCC email address (student, faculty or staff). All communication from the library is delivered to RRCC email.
- Go to RRCC Library Catalog
- Card Number = your S#
- Password = last 4 digits of your S#
MY SUMMARY shows what you have checked out, when material is due, and the status of requested items. If available, click “Renew” to extend your loan period. Renewals are not available on all items.
MY FINES shows amounts owed to the library for overdue, damaged or lost items. Fines are paid at the RRCC campus cashier.

Request an item in AspenCat
- Search AspenCat for the item
- Click into the item record, which shows the title and cover image
- Click “Place Hold” in the light blue box, upper right
- Enter your Card Number / S# and password / last 4 digits of your S#
- You will get an email to your RRCC student email account when the item is available!
